Andre Tourigny spoke about the depth of his roster and what situations will require which lineups after Friday's practice.
Even after two wins in two games, the Utah Hockey Club is still preaching patience.
Andre Tourigny spoke to the media Friday morning at Madison Square Garden about how the roster's newfound depth is creating a tough situation, but it's still very early and everyone will get a chance.
"It's case-by-case," he said. "They want to contribute, and they have the right to want to play every night. That's the beauty of our team; we have competition inside and out."
The rotation so far has seen Liam O'Brien step out of the lineup in last night's win in upstate New York for Michael Carcone, with Kailer Yamamoto and Robert Bortuzzo still to make their debuts.
"He (Carcone) was really good," Tourigny said. "He provides a lot of speed to our team. He has that offensive touch and can score goals; he had a tremendous camp and really good game."
Another player who stood out last night was newly acquired defenceman Mikhail Sergachev, who combined with Sean Durzi to accumulate seven of the 20 blocked shots for Utah.
They will certainly need that kind of defensive performance against a Rangers team with an explosive offence tomorrow night (5:00 p.m. MT; UtahHC+/Utah 16).
As for a possible Liam O'Brien vs. Matt Rempe fight?
"We'll see," Tourigny said. "You'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out."
