The Utah Hockey Club could see their playoff dreams fade into the sunset tonight.
The NHL has released their clinching/elimination scenarios, and unfortunately, Utah finds themselves on the brink of elimination. If the Minnesota Wild win tonight in any fashion over the San Jose Sharks, it will eliminate Utah from playoff contention.
This season has been a great inaugural season for Utah. They battled hard to the end, but with other teams like the St. Louis Blues winning 12 of their last 13, it made it very hard on teams fighting for a wild card spot.
With Utah not making it into the playoffs in their first season, it will make for an exciting off-season. It has been reported that the management group wants to be aggressive and shop some big names on the open market.
So buckle up, Utah. The fun has only begun.
