The club trimmed the roster to 31 players ahead of Saturday's pre-season finale against Colorado.

The Utah Hockey Club took the day off from practice Thursday, but it didn't mean a day off for its front office.

Following last night's 5-2 loss in Anaheim, the club announced that four players would be assigned to the Tucson Roadrunners:

  • Maksymilian Szuber
  • Aku Raty
  • Maveric Lamoureaux
  • Milos Kelemen

Lamoureaux, a former 2022 first-round pick, was assigned after seeing his first game action since having surgeries on both shoulders in the past two seasons.

Kelemen also fought his way onto the first practice group earlier in training camp, and had an impressive outing with some of the veterans.

The moves brought the roster down to 31 players, which means the club will cut eight more players to have its final 23-man slate ready for opening night on October 8 versus the Chicago Blackhawks.

Utah is expected to return tomorrow at Park City Ice Arena for its final practice of training camp. The team will break camp following the practice and then play its pre-season finale against Colorado at 5:00 p.m. MT Saturday.

UPDATE: The club announced three more assignments via waivers to Tucson, bringing the roster down to 28:

  • Andrew Agozzino
  • Patrik Koch
  • Ben McCartney
