As the fireworks die down and the drinks run out, there's still something exciting on the table.
The Utah Hockey Club, after holding its prospect development camp in Park City this week, will end it with an open scrimmage Friday afternoon at 1:00p.m. MT at Delta Center.
Before that happens, the club, led by general manager Bill Armstrong, will introduce new defenceman Mikhail Sergachev in a press conference at 11:30a.m.
Following Sergachev's introduction, president of hockey operations and alternate governor Chris Armstrong will take media questions.
Unfortunately, while the scrimmage is free and open to the public, the press conference will be available to only the media. (Stay tuned to The Hockey News' Utah site for recaps of both pressers.)
Sergachev was acquired in a blockbuster trade at the Upper Deck NHL Draft in Las Vegas for Conor Geekie, J.J. Moser, and two draft picks, with Utah taking on the final seven years of his 8-year, $68 million extension signed with Tampa Bay in 2022.
