Today Utah's owner, Ryan Smith, made his new NHL team official by announcing it via Twitter/X.
The Smith Entertainment Group also released their first-season jersey concepts, which disappointed fans.
It is believed that the Utah NHL team will release their full-team name based on the fan vote. If that is the case, NHL fans and Utah fans will know the team name after the voting ends on June 20th.
There could be a chance that the team announced its name at the NHL draft on June 28–29.
It would be a good time to make it public when they also elect their first-ever draft pick with the 6th pick in the draft.
Utah has gone with the same idea that the PWHL went with for their first-year jerseys. A simple look with the city's name across the front tied together with a basic colour scheme.
It'll be interesting to see if Utah carries on with the same colour scheme for their second year or will rebrand to match the Utah Jazz's colours, whose primary colour is purple.
Now that this has been made available to the public, Utah's attention will turn to the NHL Draft and Free Agency as they look to be competitive in their first season in the league.
