
Yesterday, Utah Mammoth's top prospect Cole Beaudoin was named the co-captain of the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League.
Beaudoin was recently re-assigned to the Colts after spending training camp with the Mammoth. He now gets the honour of serving as his team's co-captain alongside New York Islanders' prospect Kashawn Aitcheson.
The Colts' head coach Dylan Smoskowitz spoke about the decision to assign two captains. Here is what he had to say about Beaudoin being named.
“Cole is a natural born leader. If you followed Cole’s routine on a daily basis, you would become better in all aspects of your life. His dedication, commitment, and unparalleled work ethic will have positive effects on this organization for years to come.”
Last season with the club, he had 22 goals and 29 assists for 51 point in 52 games. The 19 year old, also represented Team Canada at the 2024-25 World Juniors. He has spent the last three years with the Colts and has 133 points in 183 games. Now entering his fourth season in the OHL, he is hoping to continue his development which can help him make the 2025-26 opening night roster with Utah. Beaudoin was drafted by the Mammoth with the 24th pick in the first round of the 2024 NHL Draft.
