A Stanley Cup Playoffs blackout will only add to the legend of the Delta Center's history of being the toughest sports arena in the Mountain West.

The color palette released by the Utah Hockey Club Thursday included "salt white", "sky blue", and "rock black".

But the jerseys that dropped go insanely hard.

Obviously, road whites are a must, and there's a chance of a light blue alternate in the future.

But black home jerseys got me thinking...

Winnipeg has the Whiteout. Calgary has the C of Red.

Why not a blackout in Utah?

And we'll call it "Rock In The Dark" -- or something else creative.

(Yes, I know, it sounds like we stole Rock the Red from the Washington Capitals, and I apologize.)

It would already be intimidating enough for teams to enter into the boiling cauldron of noise that will be the Delta Center this season.

But the intensity rises one notch in the Stanley Cup playoffs for all involved, including the fans.

To add to that intensity by asking all the fans to wear black gear while simultaneously screaming "Let's go, Utah" would create something reminiscent of the 1997 and 1998 NBA Finals.

Imagine a team walking out of the dressing room and all they see are fans draped in black, pounding on the glass, and raising the roof.

And on top of that, you can have the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square or the Osmonds singing the national anthem at every playoff game.

It's an atmosphere Utah has an opportunity to create, and I certainly wouldn't want to play there as an opponent.

But then again, who's afraid of the dark?

Certainly not us.
