The most popular team in the Beehive State will get a chance to face its newest expansion foe to the north.

You knew I was waiting to write up this one.

The original 21st-century expansion team that set the new standard against the newest expansion team that's looking to take the next step.

This is the last team in the Pacific Division to preview a matchup with, and this is the best one of all.

It's no secret there are plenty of Vegas Golden Knights fans in Utah; only the Seattle Kraken are behind them in terms of fan support.

In fact, Vegas was regularly featured in the Frozen Face-Off, an annual pre-season clash held in Utah at the Delta Center hosted by the Los Angeles Kings.

There isn't much to say about Vegas' team except one word: physical.

They may have lost fourth-line ace William Carrier to free agency, but every player except for two on their roster remains at 6-feet or over.

And they're also really good in transition, much like Colorado; it's amazing how fast they can move the puck when they break out of the defensive zone.

That's what makes them so hard to defend, and it's what will present the greatest challenge for Utah HC.

Mikhail Sergachev, in his introductory press conference in July for the club, said being physical is knowing when to pick and choose your moments, and against Vegas, it can make all the difference in the world.

But he believes this team can do it, and there's no better team to do it against than Vegas, who can move people and the puck at will.

Utah can do that, too, and it will make for a grueling, bitter battle between these two rivals separated by just over 500 miles on Interstate 15.
