For NHL fans in their early 20s and on, certain names on the back of hockey sweaters just make sense.

There are William, Alex, and their dad, Michael Nylander. Nick, Marcus, and their dad, Mike Foligno, and, of course, Max and his dad, Tie Domi.

Now that we are seeing HL players that we grew up watching have kids make it to the NHL, it is bittersweet. On one hand, it is insanely cool that we experienced their father's careers and now their sons. But on the other hand, it means we are getting older, and that is no fun at all.

The 2024 NHL Draft class has a few more sons of former NHL players, and Utah has a chance to draft the son of Jarome Iginla this year with their sixth pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Tij Iginla pushed his way into the top 10 of the NHL draft after a very strong performance this season. Some draft experts have him going anywhere from pick number five to 10.

Although the more likely option for Utah would be a defenseman to draft the son of a Hall of Famer in the top 10, this would bring a lot of hype to their new NHL franchise.

Tij Iginla spent the year with the Kelowna Rockets, where he had 47 goals and 37 assists for 84 points in 64 games in the WHL. His career high before that was 18 points in 48 games with the Seattle Thunderbirds.

The 2023–24 season was the breakout season that he needed to push him into the first round and, subsequently, into the top 10 for the 2024 NHL Draft.

Utah could build an offence around Iginla, Cooley, Guenther, and Keller up front for years to come; all they need to do is pick him with the sixth pick of the draft.
