Yesterday, Utah Hockey Club GM Bill Armstrong provided an update on Connor Ingram during his end-of-season exit interview.

Ingram, 28, has been enrolled in the NHL’s Player Assistance Program since March 9 as he deals with personal matters. He hasn’t been with the team since entering the program, and Armstrong shared what he could.

“A lot of it is unknown. When players go into the program, we don’t have any contact with them, so it’s hard for us to speculate,” Armstrong said. “The good news for us as we sit here in this room is we know he is in a good place at the program. We wish him the best.”

Back in March, Ingram took to social media to share more about why he was stepping away. He revealed that his mother had passed away after a battle with breast cancer, and it had been a difficult time for him.

With no timeline on a return, Armstrong said the team will be discussing Ingram’s future in the coming days.

“We haven’t got too far into that,” Armstrong said. “We have our hockey meetings coming up for the next two days and after that we’ll go back into building the team. In any situation that you’re building, you always look to provide depth in that. It will be no different.”

Everyone in Utah and across the NHL is pulling for Ingram. Hopefully he’s able to return next season and continue his NHL career.
