Utah's owner Ryan Smith has taken to Twitter/X to ask the fans to vote on their first team name

Utah's owner, Ryan Smith, took to Twitter/X recently to tell the fans of the team and the NHL that he and his wife are holding a fan survey to figure out the team's name.

As of now, it looks like the team will go by Utah for their first season until they register an official name.

The survey will feature 20 names to choose from, with the voters being allowed to pick the four they like most. The first round of voting is set to end on May 22.

    20 Team Name Options

    - Utah Frost

    - Utah Fury

    - Utah Blast

    - Utah Blizzards

    - Utah Outlaws

    - Utah HC

    - Utah Squall

    - Utah Mountaineers

    - Utah Caribou

    - Utah Ice

    - Utah Swarm

    - Utah Mammoth

    - Utah Hive

    - Utah Freeze

    - Utah Venom

    - Utah Powder

    - Utah Canyons

    - Utah Black Diamonds

    - Utah Yeti

    - Utah Glacier

On social media, it seems that 'Utah Yeti" has been the one that hockey fans like the most.

Some fans have been using AI to create a logo with a specific name. The post above shows what AI says the Yeti logo should look like if that is the name that is selected.

Another name that has been talked about is the Utah Hockey Club (Utah HC). It is different and has never been done before in the NHL. However, it is used in European hockey leagues, for example, HC Davos.

A similar name was also used in the NFL with the Washington Football Team after they rebranded their franchise. It has happened in sports before but never in the NHL, and that is what has fans of the league curious about the Utah HC.

Make sure to cast your vote on what you think should be the name of Utah's NHL team.
