The NHL Draft is now officially one week away, and today we're meeting another draft target for the Utah Hockey Club.
Yesterday, we met Sam Dickinson, a two-way defenceman who's smooth on his skates and a sniper from the point.
Now, we get to meet a man who plays with his heart on his sleeve -- literally.
This would be Zeev Buium (last name pronounced boo-ee-yum), who recently won the national championship with the Denver Pioneers.
The freshman from San Diego, California, burst onto the scene, recording the first 50-point season by a blue liner since 1984, and was nominated for the Hobey Baker Award, college hockey's highest honor.
Although he only scored nine goals, he is simply sensational at hockey. His IQ is the highest among the defencemen in the class of 2024, and he knows when to make the right play at the right time -- which is sometimes all you need in the pros.
Would Utah select him with the no. 6 pick? Only time will tell.
But there's no denying why people are high on the frosh, as you can tell from his scouting report.
Wherever he goes, people better be ready, because here comes the Buium.
