Utah Hockey Club fans are already familiar with one Sam on their radar this off-season.
How about we add another one today?
This time, we'll look at Sammy Blais, a checking-line forward that is a free-agent-to-be this off-season.
A former sixth-round pick of the St. Louis Blues, later leading them to a Stanley Cup in 2019, Blais has bounced back and forth between the NHL and AHL throughout his career.
He scored a career-high eight goals as a third liner in his first stint with the Blues before he was traded to the New York Rangers.
When he returned in 2022-23 as part of the Niko Mikkola/Vladimir Tarasenko trade, he scored a new career-high nine goals in the final 31 games of the year, accumulating 20 points.
He signed a one-year, veterans' minimum extension of $1 million last year, and led the team in hits with 194 in 53 games.
Speculated by some to be let go, it would be fascinating to see if Utah will make a move for him.
