Utah had 6 representatives at the World Championships, here's how they did
Utah was high on the list of teams with the most representatives at the 2024 World Championships. The Pittsburgh Penguins and Seattle Kraken were two teams that had more players (8) overseas for the tournament. The San Jose Sharks and Utah both had six players, some of whom did very well.
Utah's Representatives:
Milos Keleman - Slovakia: 8 GP, 3 G, 2 A, 5 PTS
Dylan Guenther - Canada: 9 GP, 1 G, 3 A, 4 PTS
Patrik Koch - Slovakia: 8 GP, 1 G, 3 A, 4 PTS
Michael Kesselring - USA: 7 GP, 2 G, 1 A, 3 PTS
Jack McBain - Canada: 10 GP, 0 G, 2 A, 2 PTS
Maksymilian Szuber - Germany: 6 GP, 1 G, 1 A, 2 PTS
Leading the charge in point production was Milos Keleman from Team Slovakia. He spent the majority of the season with the Tucson Roadrunners, where he played in 54 games and had 16 goals and 16 assists for 32 points.
Dylan Guenther and Jack McBain both played for Team Canada, where they fell short and finished fourth. Although they weren't major contributors to the team, they still played their role.
Often, when you represent your national team, you are asked to play a different role than you typically would. While their stat line only reads four and two points, they were tasked with more of a shutdown bottom-six role by their own NHL team's coach, André Tourigny.
Another noteworthy player on the list is Michael Kesselring. Much like Canada, the United States of America failed to medal at the Worlds after what many would call an underwhelming performance from their team. Unfortunately, the early exit from the tournament meant less point production for the American players.
However, Kesselring still managed to collect a few points. In seven games, he scored two goals and one assist for three points, which isn't bad for a defenseman who only played in seven games.
