Former Arizona Coyotes forward Jason Zucker seems to be acclimating quite well to his new role with the Nashville Predators.
The Coyotes traded Zucker to Nashville for a 2024 sixth-round pick on the day of the NHL Trade Deadline last week.
Due to his past experiences playing against the Predators, Zucker knew what he was getting into.
“They’ve been playing really well,” Zucker said about the Predators via The Tennessean. “They’ve been a tough team to play all year. Lately the past few weeks, they found their stride and are playing their best hockey of the year, so it’s fun to come to a team that’s playing at that high of a level and I’m just excited to be here.”
Through 51 games with the Coyotes this season, Zucker had nine goals, 16 assists and 25 points.
The 32-year-old forward will be playing in a completely different system now in Nashville compared to in Arizona which is something he is fully prepared for.
“There is definitely going to be an adjustment period,” Zucker said. “It’s completely different from what I’ve played in Arizona, but I’m going to watch some video to adjust as quick as possible to help the team win games.”
Zucker scored his first goal as a member of the Predators on Wednesday night in their 4-2 victory against the Winnipeg Jets.
“It’s nice,” Zucker said on scoring his first goal with the Predators Via Bally Sports. “It’s always nice getting acclimated with the group. It’s been a great group of guys and fun to be here and just looking to contribute anyway I can.”
During his time with the Coyotes, Zucker was beloved around the organization not only because of his play, but also for his outstanding and kindhearted personality.
It shouldn’t be long before people around the Predators take notice of Zucker’s fantastic traits both on and off the ice.
