Arizona Coyotes forwards Logan Cooley and Dylan Guenther have built quite a rapport together on the ice.
The two young rising stars have both elevated their game on a line alongside each other which has been really exciting to watch.
Their friendship has played a major factor into their fantastic chemistry on the ice.
Being that Cooley is 19-years-old and Guenther is 20-years-old, they both are in very similar situations, looking to prove themselves at the highest level.
Guenther was called up from the Tucson Roadrunners back in January. Through that time Cooley and Guenther have spent more and more time together which has grown their bond.
“With Zucker leaving, he sits next to me on the plane now,” Cooley said about his bond with Guenther. “We got some good chuckles and like I said, we got some good chemistry on the ice. As we get to learn from each other, be around each other a little bit more, the friendship is going to come along even more.”
On Friday night, Cooley delivered a pinpoint pass to Guenther who capitalized and scored the overtime winner against the Seattle Kraken.
Guenther believes that their fantastic play is a testament to the strong friendship that they have built over the past few weeks.
“We sit together, we sit on the plane together, we spend a lot of time together, so that helps,” Guenther said. “I think when you are friends off the ice, it helps your on-ice chemistry and our skill sets and game compliment each other well.”
Cooley has 13 goals, 20 assists and 33 points in 70 games while Guenther has 11 goals, 11 assists and 22 points in 33 games.
Who knows, Cooley and Guenther could be the Coyotes’ offensive duo of the future and we may very well be watching the start of something truly special.
