The club inked the 35-year-old to a one-year, two-way deal Saturday morning.
The biggest news might be on the Gaudreau family at the moment, but the Utah Hockey Club made another signing to boost their defensive core Saturday.
The club signed defenceman Robert Bortuzzo to a one-year, two-way contract Saturday, as announced in a press release.
Bortuzzo, 35 years old, was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins before being traded for Ian Cole in 2015.
He later won a Stanley Cup with the St. Louis Blues in 2019 with current Utah general manager Bill Armstrong, scoring twice in 17 appearances that post-season.
Bortuzzo's addition to the roster now gives Utah four former Stanley Cup winners, with Ian Cole, Kevin Stenlund, and Mikhail Sergachev the other three.
It will also give Utah some added depth behind their starting defensive core, which likely will include Sean Durzi, Michael Kesselring, and newly acquired John Marino.
