One former Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman has really slotted into a concrete role with the Coyotes through this season. That defenceman is Travis Dermott who has made an impact for the Coyotes both on and off the ice. Dermott played five seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs before being traded to the Vancouver Canucks during the 2021-22 season. His use of pride tape in a game earlier this season to show his support for the LGBTQ+ helped reverse the NHL’s original ban on pride tape which ultimately made national headlines.
