For the second time in the last three games, the Vancouver Canucks scored six goals as they defeated the Winnipeg Jets 6-2 at Rogers Arena. Brock Boeser and Pius Suter each scored twice, while Drew O'Connor and Nils Höglander also found the back of the net in the victory. As for Kevin Lankinen, he stopped 19 of the 21 shots he faced for his 24th win of the season.

The Canucks put forth an impressive effort on Tuesday as they took down the league-leading Jets. Vancouver's power play was able to convert on their only opportunity of the night, while the penalty kill went perfectly, which included killing off 17 seconds of five-on-three action. As for their five-on-five play, while the Canucks did give up some chances, they did a good job of getting in passing and shooting lanes, as they finished the night with 16 blocked shots.
As for the story of the game, that was Boeser, who hadn't scored since February 8. With the two goals, Boeser became the second player on Vancouver to score 20 goals this season, which later became three as Suter scored his 20th into an empty net. If the Canucks are going to push for the playoffs, they need Boeser to return to his goalscoring ways, with Tuesday night being a step in the right direction.
"Definitely relief," said Boeser post-game about breaking his goalless streak. "You know, it's obviously been a tough go, but I think with the right attitude and right mindset, you just really focus on what you do best out there, you can get out of any slump. I tried to have the right mindset today, and it worked."
Another key part of this game was that Vancouver was able to build off their lead rather than sit back and allow Winnipeg an opportunity to mount a comeback. After the Jets made it 3-2 in the second, the Canucks scored to push their lead to 5-2 and essentially put the game out of reach. Vancouver also limited Winnipeg to eight shots in the third in order to seal win number 32 on the season.
"Yeah, it was nice to see," said Rick Tocchet post-game when discussing his team's performance in the third period. "You are playing well, a great team like that. They were putting pressure on you; I thought we made plays. That's really encouraging. We don't want to just throw pucks away and try to protect it. I thought we got some chances, some two-on-ones, because we stuck with it. It's good, and we can build confidence on it."
In the end, this may have been the Canucks most impressive win on the season. Their offence was clicking, and they were able to limit the Jets to just two goals. If Vancouver can put more of these efforts together, it will go a long way in their fight to secure a postseason berth.
