Fernstrom, 19, was selected by the Vancouver Canucks with the 93rd overall pick of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. The Penguins acquired the 6-foot-1 forward in January in the trade that sent Marcus Pettersson and Drew O'Connor to Vancouver.
