The Vancouver Canucks host the New York Islanders on Thursday night.

The Vancouver Canucks (8-3-3) continue their homestand on Thursday with a visit from the New York Islanders (6-4-4). Last season, the Canucks swept the season series, which included an overtime win during Bo Horvat's return to Vancouver. Winners of three of their last four games, the Canucks will be looking to build off their victory against the Calgary Flames, which featured one of their best periods of the season.

Vancouver catches New York at an interesting time, as the Islanders are facing some serious injury problems. Both Mathew Barzal and Adam Pelech are out of the lineup, as well as Anthony Duclair, who is currently on injured reserve. That being said, the Canucks will still need to be careful, as New York's lineup still contains plenty of talent both upfront and on the blue line.

    Players to Watch:

    Teddy Blueger:

Teddy Blueger has been one of Vancouver's most consistent players this season. He is up to seven points in 14 games and is coming off a 78.6% performance in the faceoff dot against the Flames. Whether it is at even strength or on the penalty kill, Blueger will find a way to leave his mark on this game.

    Bo Horvat:

Returning to Rogers Arena once again, Horvat is looking to light the lamp for the third time against his former team. Currently playing on New York's top line, Horvat has 12 points in 16 games and will have his eyes set on breaking a current two-game scoreless drought. One of the best bumper players in the NHL, the Canucks will need to keep an eye on their former captain whenever the Islanders are on the power play.

    Vancouver Canucks Projected Lineup:
