Vancouver Canucks prospect Braeden Cootes and Team Canada fell to Finland 6-3 at the 2025 World Junior Summer Showcase. This was Canada's second game of the tournament, but first against a different team, as they previously played an inter-squad match. Cootes was a late addition to the lineup as he was initially listed as a scratch in the morning.

Cootes spent the game on the fourth line playing next to Minnesota Wild's Ryder Ritchie and New York Rangers' Malcolm Spence. He did not record a point and did not take any penalties. Cootes has now played two games at this tournament, but has yet to record a point.
