Despite shutting out the Flyers, the Canucks lost the even-strength analytics battle. Philadephia ended the game with a 26-18 scoring-chance advantage while also winning the high-danger chances battle 7-6. That being said, it is important to note that the reason the Flyers did have a large advantage in scoring chances is because of the third period when Philadelphia, who were trailing by three, recorded ten scoring chances compared to the Canucks two.

As for the heatmap, Vancouver did a good job protecting Kevin Lankinen's crease. Of the 26 shots he faced, only two were classified as high-danger, with the average shot distance coming from beyond the faceoff circle. Ultimately, it was a strong defensive effort, even if, at times, the Canucks play looked chaotic.
One forward line that had a strong night was the trio of Nils Höglander, Elias Pettersson and Conor Garland. During their 10:45 of ice time, Vancouver held a 5-2 shots advantage, won the scoring chances battle 6-2 and scored the game-winning goal. While the trio hasn't been together for long, they have developed some chemistry and were rewarded for their strong play against the Flyers.
Lastly, Tyler Myers celebrated his 1,00th career game with a strong performance. In 17:51 of even-strength ice time, the Canucks held an 11-8 shot advantage and outscored Philadelphia 1-0. As for Myers himself, he had a beautiful primary assist and created a high-danger chance. Overall, Myers has had a strong start to the season and is showing he can still be a top performer 1,000 games into his NHL career.
