Team Canada will take on Team USA on Thursday in the 4 Nations Face-Off final.
It is safe to say that the 4 Nations Face-Off has lived up to expectations. This is in large part due to the Canada vs. USA game on Saturday, February 15. Less than a week later, these two historic rivals will face off again, this time for a chance to lift a trophy.

One player on the Vancouver Canucks that has experienced this rivalry firsthand is Tyler Myers. While Myers was born in the States, he represents Canada internationally and has played the majority of his career with Canadian teams. As Myers explains, watching Saturday's game in Montréal was an exciting experience even if Canada did eventually fall 3-1.
"The US-Canada game had a lot of emotion to it," said Myers. "It was fun to watch. It's been a long time since it's been best on best, so you could tell the guys were pretty excited. It looked like it was electric. I can't imagine what the building was like, especially after the (Connor) McDavid goal. After the three fights. I can only imagine how loud it was in there."
Just like the Canadians at the 4 Nations Face-Off, Myers also has some experience playing for Team Canada in a Canadian city. Back in 2009, Myers won Gold with Canada at the World Juniors in Ottawa. That was a memorable tournament as not only did Canada defeat the USA 7-4, but it was also the year Jordan Eberle scored a last-second goal against Russia to keep Canada's quest for a Gold medal alive.
Despite some questions surrounding the intensity of the 4 Nations Face-Off before it started, the players are clearly invested. The tournament is the first time since 2016 that best-on-best hockey has been played, and it appears that the players involved are making up for lost time. This was evident during the Canada vs. USA game, which was arguably the best hockey game played by NHLers in a long time.
"I could tell the game had a lot of emotion to start. It's been so long since the hockey world has had a game like that. You could tell everyone was kind of letting out 10 years of anticipation."
While NHL teams are starting to skate again after the break, all eyes in the hockey world remain focused on Thursday when Canada and the USA do battle in the final. Not only are the players involved excited for this game, but also the fans as resell tickets for the Final in Boston are going for just under $1000 USD. Having experienced a similar situation, Myers knows what these players are going through and is confident we will see some riveting hockey on Thursday.
"It's going to be just like Saturday. I think both teams are going to bring their best. In that situation, you're always anxious to get it going. You always have good nerves going into it, but you'll see everyone's best, I'm sure."
In the end, the 4 Nations Face-Off has been a massive success for the NHL. The event not only produced incredible games but also some impressive viewership numbers in both Canada and the USA. Based on Saturday's game, Thursday will be a must-watch for any hockey fan as Canada looks for revenge on the USA in the 4 Nations Face-Off final, which starts at 5:00 pm PT.
