    Abbotsford Canucks forward Sammy Blais has a new home for the 2025-26 season. Despite rumours linking the 29-year-old to the Vancouver Canucks, Blais signed a one-year contract with the Montréal Canadiens. Blais' new deal is a one-way contract that carries a cap hit of $775,000. 

    Blais played a key role for Abbotsford during their Calder Cup Championship. In 23 games, he recorded 19 points along with 77 penalty minutes. Blais was also productive during the regular season, producing 40 points in 51 games.

    Over his career, Blais has played 257 NHL games, as well as 199 in the AHL. He won the Stanley Cup in 2019 with the St. Louis Blues and a Gold Medal with Canada at the 2023 World Championship. Blais is from Quebec and played his junior hockey in the QMJHL
