With Gretzky’s goal-scoring record now broken, fans will wonder whether this could be the last season of Ovechkin’s career. His current contract expires next season, during which he will be 40 years old. Regardless of when he decides to hang up his skates, Ovechkin will go down as the greatest goal-scorer of all time.
