According to a Twitter poll, the countdown is on to January 22, 2024. That's the night 2023 first overall draft pick Connor Bedard is scheduled to play his first National Hockey League game in his hometown.
As single-game Vancouver Canucks tickets went on sale to the public on Monday, the Sekeres and Price podcast asked its listeners for their most-anticipated game of the season at Rogers Arena.
Bedard's Vancouver debut garnered more votes than the return of long-time captain Bo Horvat, Roberto Luongo taking his place in the Canucks Ring of Honour and the club's home opener against Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers.
The poll also drew write-in votes for the annual visit from the Toronto Maple Leafs, the burgeoning rivalry games agains Seattle and one hopeful fan wistfully offering a vote for the first home playoff date since 2015.
