Team unveils plans for nine special theme nights starting with Diwali Night on November 15th
The Vancouver Canucks have released their schedule of special event and theme nights for the new National Hockey League season. The slate of games will begin with Diwali Night -- a celebration of South Asian culture and heritage -- on November 15th in Bo Horvat's return to Rogers Arena with the New York Islanders.
Here is a list of the nine theme nights scheduled prior to the All Star break:
While unpopular changes have led to the NHL banning teams and players from wearing special theme night jerseys during warm-ups, the Canucks promise plenty of special events for fans inside and outside Rogers Arena on those nights.
The team also says lines of associated merchandise will be created and sold for the various theme nights.
