All 32 teams in action in staggered starts; Canucks and Predators face-off at 6:15pm Pacific time

The National Hockey League is throwing everything it has at hockey fans on Tuesday.

The League is conducting its first ever Frozen Frenzy scheduling all 32 teams in action in 16 games with 16 different start times. Beginning with an earlier than usual 6pm Eastern puck drop for Toronto at Washington and continuing through the 8pm Pacific start for Philadelphia at Vegas, the league will offer continuous action for the better part of seven hours.

To make all of the puzzle pieces fit in this scheduling experiment, the Canucks are slotted to face Nashville in a game that begins at 8:15pm local time at Bridgestone Arena. That's an unconventional 6:15pm Pacific time start.

The 8:15pm local start in Nashvhille is the latest of all games on Tuesday's slate matched by Seattle's 8:15pm start in Detroit in the Eastern time zone.

Full schedule for October 24th NHL Frozen Frenzy

It's been an odd road trip for the Canucks in that it will start and end with later than usual starts. The trip opener in Edmonton was scheduled for an 8pm Mountain time puck drop as the late game on Hockey Night in Canada. And considering it was the Oilers home opener, with pre-game festivities, it actually began at 8:18pm local time.

The following game in Philadelphia had been scheduled for a conventional 7pm EST start. However, due to Phillies playoff baseball on the same night, it was pushed to 6pm EST/3pm Pacific.

The Canucks won their late start in Edmonton, but were blanked 2-0 in the early start in Philadelphia. Perhaps the later than usual face-off in Nashville will work in their favour.
