The Vancouver Canucks (21-9-2) extended their point streak to six games as they defeated the Chicago Blackhawks (9-20-1) on Sunday afternoon. This was the 16th time this season the Canucks have scored at least four goals, extending their record in those games to 15-1. With the victory, Vancouver also remains perfect when leading after two periods, improving their record to 18-0.
While the Canucks were victorious in this one, this was far from a perfect game. They allowed two goals to the worst power play in the game and allowed Chicago to dictate play for most of the first period. Luckily, their offence woke up in the second as they walked away with their league-leading 20th regulation win of the season.
To wrap things up on a positive note, the Pius Suter, Elias Petterson, and Ilya Mikheyev line looked like they had some chemistry. They controlled play in the offensive zone and scored the game-winning goal. With three players that can contribute at both ends of the ice, this may be a line that sticks together and is used by Rick Tocchet to shut down the opposition's top players.
