This will be the first meeting of the season between the Canucks and Jets.

The two best teams in Canada are set to do battle for the first time this season as the Vancouver Canucks (37-12-6) welcome the Winnipeg Jets (32-14-5) on Saturday night. With a victory, the Canucks would tie their win total from last year while also moving within one point of their win total in 2022-23. The Canucks will also be looking for their 20th home win of the season and could be the second team behind the Colorado Avalanche to hit the mark this season.

The main storyline heading into this game will be the matchup in goal between Thatcher Demko and Connor Hellebuyck. Currently, these two are projected to be finalists for the Vezina Trophy and will be battling it on for Team USA's starting spot at next year's 4 Nations Face-Off. Expect plenty of big saves as two of the best in the game go toe to toe on Hockey Night in Canada.

Players to Watch

Elias Lindholm

After a stellar home debut, what does Elias Lindholm have in store tonight? His all-Swede line of Elias Pettersson and Nils Höglander have developed excellent chemistry over the past few games and will need to be on their game if the Canucks want to walk away with the victory. With 26 career points in 30 games against Winnipeg, expect him to find the scoresheet again tonight.

Sean Monahan

It has been a slow start for Sean Monahan since being acquired by the Jets. In 4 games, he has zero points but has made a difference in the faceoff dot, winning 59.2% of his draws. With 27 career points against Vancouver, he will be looking to break the goose egg tonight in front of a national audience.
