After a strong start to the 2024-25 campaign, Vancouver Canucks goaltender Kevin Lankinen is projected to make Team Finland at the upcoming 4 Nations Face-Off. Lankinen was one of three goaltenders selected by NHL.com to make the team, joining former teammate Juuse Saros of the Nashville Predators and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen of the Buffalo Sabres. Saros is the projected starter for the tournament, with Lankinen and Luukkonen expected to battle for the backup role.
Lankinen has been one of Vancouver's best players early in 2024-25. He has a 4-0-2 record through his first six games, while his .920 save percentage is the best among Finnish goaltenders this season. Lankinen also has a shutout, while his 2.29 goals-against average ranks seventh in the NHL among goaltenders who have played at least five games.

The 2025 4 Nations Face-Off will take place in Montreal and Boston From February 12-20. Finland kicks off their tournament on February 13 against Team U.S.A., who will be led by Quinn Hughes. Final rosters for the tournament need to be submitted by December 2, while plans on how the rosters will be revealed are still a work in progress.
