Vancouver Canucks prospect Lucas Forsell and his SHL team, Färjestad Karlstad, have been crowned Champions Hockey League regular season winners for the 2024-25 season. Färjestad Karlstad finished the regular season with a perfect 6-0 record, outscoring their opposition 26-10. Of the six games, only one required overtime, which was their 3-2 victory on October 8 against HC Oceláři Třinec.
As for Forsell, he played in all six games, scoring a goal and recording an assist. He also had ten shots on goal, five blocked shots, and a hit while averaging 12:10 a game. Forsell's only goal of the regular season was a game-winner, which came at the beginning of the season against the Lahti Pelicans.

Drafted in 2021, Forsell has spent the majority of his career with Färjestad Karlstad. In addition to the Champions Hockey League, he has played three SHL games but is still looking for his first point of the season. Over his 115-game career in the SHL, Forsell has 19 goals and has recorded 26 points.
As regular season winners, Färjestad Karlstad has qualified for the Round of 16, which will take place in mid-November. Each round outside of the Final is a two-game, home and home, with the aggregate score winner advancing to the next round. Färjestad Karlstad has never won the Champions Hockey League and will be looking to bring the trophy back to Sweden for the first time since 2022.
