    Vancouver Canucks prospect Matthew Perkins will have a new NCAA home next season. The 2023 fourth-rounder is leaving the University of Minnesota-Duluth and will play the 2025-26 season at Northeastern University. Perkins, who is currently 21, has not signed his entry-level contract, and will remain on the Canucks reserve list until August 15, 2027.

    Perkins has spent his entire NCAA career with the University of Minnesota-Duluth. In two seasons, he has played 64 games and recorded 20 points. During his time with the Bulldogs, he also recorded 16 blocked shots and won 183 faceoffs. 

    As for Perkins as a player, he can play both on the wing and at center. He is a playmaker, with one of his strongest attributes being the ability to clear the defensive zone by delivering crisp passes to teammates in stride. Perkins is listed at 5'11", 163 pounds, and is from Balgonie, Saskatchewan.
