    Lucas Forsell and Färjestad BK will face Sparta Praha in this year's semi-finals.

    Vancouver Canucks prospect Lucas Forsell is off to the 2024-25 Champions Hockey League Semi-Finals. Forsell's Färjestad BK defeated Red Bull Salzburg by an aggregate score of 7-3 in the quarter-finals and will now take on Sparta Praha in the next round. Like the quarter-finals, the semi-finals will consist of a home and home, with the aggregate score winner heading to the finals.

    After falling in their first game of the quarter-finals 3-1, Färjestad BK was unstoppable in game two, winning 6-0. As for Forsell, he scored the game's first goal and finished the night with three blocked shots in 13:06 of ice time. The 21-year-old right winger has played in ten Champions Hockey League games this season, recording two goals, two assists and 11 blocked shots while averaging 12:52 of ice time per game. 

    Drafted 201st overall in 2021, Forsell has spent almost his entire career with Färjestad BK. In 19 SHL games this year, he has four goals and seven points, which matches his exact totals from last season when he suited up for 46 games. So far this season, Färjestad BK sits in second place in the SHL with a record of 12-4-7-2. 

    Färjestad BK kicks off their semi-final against Sparta Praha on either January 14 or 15, 2025, at the O2 Arena in Prague. The return game will be on either January 21 or 22, 2025, at the  Löfbergs Arena in Karlstad. As for the Final, that is scheduled for February 18, 2025.
