The OHL recently wrapped up their 2025 Conference Championships. The latest round featured two sweeps, as the London Knights and Oshawa Generals advanced to the 2025 OHL Final. This means that the seasons for Vancouver Canucks forward prospects Riley Patterson and Anthony Romani have officially come to an end, as they were part of the Barrie Colts team who lost to Oshawa.

Patterson had a productive second season in the OHL. The 2024 fourth-round pick was tied for the team lead in points with 59 during the regular season, and once again scored at least 25 goals. As for the post-season, he recorded six goals and 12 points in 16 games, which ranked tied for eighth on the Colts.

As for Romani, he had a playoff to remember. After injuries derailed his regular season, the 2024 sixth-round pick recorded a point in every game, finishing with 24 in 16 games. In the end, Romani finished tied for Barrie's post-season point lead and was the only player on the team to record double-digit goals during the playoffs.

With Patterson and Romani out of the post-season, only one Canucks prospect has a chance to lift the 2025 Memorial Cup. That would be defenceman Basile Sansonnens, who is set to play in a Game 7 on Tuesday, which will decide which team advances to the QMJHL Final. Regardless of the result, Sansonnens will play in this year's Memorial Cup as the Rimouski Océanic are hosting this year's event.
