The Vancouver Canucks have unveiled the game schedule for September's prospects showcase
The Vancouver Canucks have unveiled the schedule for this year's Young Stars tournament September 15-18 in Penticton.
Each of the four Western Canadian teams will participate in three games in the annual showcase at the South Okanagan Events Centre. In addition, the hometown Penticton Vees will play a BC Hockey League preseason contest against the Chilliwack Chiefs as part of the weekend bringing the total number of games over the weekend to seven.
The Canucks and Calgary Flames will take part in the featured game on the opening Friday night. After a day off, the Canucks will face the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday afternoon. The Canucks will close out of the weekend with a matinee affair against the Edmonton Oilers on the Monday.
This year marks the 10th edition of Young Stars. In addition to the on-ice action, the weekend will also feature a Hockey Talk with Canucks Assistant General Manager Cammi Granato. Tickets for the event go on sale on Friday June 23rd.
