A former Vancouver Canucks forward is headed to the WHL. Ahead of the 2025-26 season, the Kelowna Rockets announced that Brandon McMillan will be joining the team as an Assistant Coach. Next season is a significant one for the Rockets as they will be hosting the 2026 Memorial Cup.

McMillan's time with the Canucks organization was short. He played eight regular-season games during the 2014-15 season and suited up for two games during the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs. McMillan was a waiver claim from the Arizona Coyotes, with his only goal for Vancouver coming in Game 6 of the post-season versus the Calgary Flames.

Over the past few years, McMillan has been playing in Europe, with stops in the KHL, NL and DEL. Last season, he suited up for Schwenninger Wild Wings in Germany, recording eight points in 27 games. With his playing career now complete, McMillan returns to his home province and rejoins Kelowna, where he played alongside Tyler Myers in the 2009 Memorial Cup.
