A familiar name to Vancouver Canucks fans will be behind the bench for Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics. On Monday, Team Canada announced their coaching staff, which includes Rick Tocchet, who departed the Canucks organization this off-season. Tocchet will serve as an assistant coach for Canada, a position he held during the 4 Nations Face-Off.

Canada's coaching staff is stacked with experience. Joining Tocchet as assistants are Bruce Cassidy and Peter DeBoer, while Jon Cooper will serve as Head Coach. As for Canada's management staff, it will feature Doug Armstrong, who is the General Manager, Julien BriseBois, Jim Nill and Don Sweeney, who are Assistant General Managers, and Kyle Dubas, who is the Director of Player Personnel.

While the 2026 Winter Olympics are still over six months away, each team has already announced six players to their rosters. The two players from Vancouver who have already been selected are Quinn Hughes for Team USA and Teddy Blueger for Team Latvia. Other Canucks players projected to participate in next year's Winter Olympics include Elias Pettersson for Team Sweden, Filip Hronek and Filip Chytil for Team Czechia, as well as Kevin Lankinen for Team Sweden.
