A uniform worn by Canucks star Elias Pettersson has netted close to $4K in an on-line auction

A road jersey worn by Vancouver Canucks centre Elias Pettersson late last season has sold at auction for $3765.

The winning bid was secured when the team-conducted auction of game worn road uniforms closed late Thursday night. The white sweater with an alternate captain's A stitched on it was one of two Pettersson jerseys sold at auction. The other without the A went for $2365.

According to the Canucks, the jerseys were worn in games played between January and April. Pettersson was named a full-time alternate captain after the Canucks traded long-time captain Bo Horvat to the New York Islanders during the National Hockey League's All Star break in early February.

The leading offer for the pricier of the two Pettersson jerseys sat at $2200 for much of the day Thursday until a final-hour bidding war pushed the final tally to $3765. The winning bid was one of 29 placed on the uniform. Names and hometowns of the successful bidders are not made public.

An Andrei Kuzmenko jersey landed the second-highest price in the on-line auction selling for $2421 while a Quinn Hughes jersey with an A on the front netted $2268.
