The Hockey News Archives - THN Archives: Quiet Riot RK17

The 2010-11 season was one to remember for Ryan Kesler. Not only did he surpass the 40-goal mark for the only time in his career, but he also won the Selke Trophy. Go behind the scenes with Ken Campbell as he talks to family members about the Canucks superstar. From getting cut by multiple bantam AAA teams to being kicked off the ice by his Dad during practice, the article paints a fantastic picture of what RK17 was like before making the NHL.

Also included in this edition is a breakdown of every team's depth chart, along with a short column highlighting a player who has stepped up their game. For Vancouver, that player was Keith Ballard, who, after being healthy scratched, started to find his form midway through the season. Make sure also to check out the Canucks depth chart that featured such names as Jeff Tambellini, Alexandre Bolduc and Tanner Glass. This is also a great reminder of what players made back in 2010-11, as all their cap hits are listed in the breakdown.

Lastly, don't forget to check out Adam Proteau's "Ask Adam" column. In this weekly segment, Proteau answers questions submitted by magazine readers. Read his thoughts about then-rookie Cory Schneider and whether or not he felt the former Canuck would be a contender for the Calder Trophy.
