Jonathan Lekkerimäki has played five games with the Vancouver Canucks this season.

The Vancouver Canucks announced some roster moves on Thursday, calling up Max Sasson and sending Jonathan Lekkerimäki to the AHL. During his five-game call-up, Lekkerimäki scored his first career NHL goal while averaging 14:48 per game. The 2022 first-round pick spent most of his time playing beside J.T. Miller and Pius Suter while also seeing time on the first power play.

As for Sasson, he has had a strong start to the 2024-25 season. In 16 games this season, Sasson has four goals and is tied for the Abbotsford Canucks scoring lead with nine points. An undrafted center, Sasson has 91 points in 156 career AHL games and has become a significant piece in Abbotsford's lineup.

Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller is taking a leave of absence for personal reasons.

Vancouver starts a six-game road trip on Saturday night against the Ottawa Senators. Some of the matchups on this road trip include a battle with the Boston Bruins as well as a 9:30 am PT game against the Detroit Red Wings. So far this season, the Canucks are 6-1-0 on the road compared to 3-5-3 at home. Saturday's game is scheduled for 4:00 pm PT from the Canadian Tire Centre.
