The Vancouver Canucks have extended qualifying offers to goaltender Nikita Tolopilo & defenceman Jett Woo. At the same time, Vancouver announced that they have not extended an offer to defensemen Cole McWard and Christian Felton, as well as forwards Tristen Nielsen and Ty Glover. In not qualifying McWard, Felton, Nielsen and Glover, all four will now become unrestricted free agents on July 1.

Tolopilo recorded his second straight 20-win campaign with the Abbotsford Canucks this season. The 25-year-old also played his first two career NHL games and earned his first career win on April 14 against the San Jose Sharks. Over his two-year career, Tolopilo has gone 40-27-3 in the AHL while posting a .903 save percentage and four shutouts.

Woo has been with the Canucks organization since 2018. This past season, he scored two goals while recording 18 points in 67 AHL games. Woo also played a key role during Abbotsford's Calder Cup Championship, recording six points in 22 games.

While Tolopilo and Woo have not signed contracts, qualifying them means Vancouver keeps their signing rights. If signed, both are projected to play important roles in the AHL next season. As for the four players that were not qualified, they can still sign with the Canucks during free agency.
