The Vancouver Canucks’ final selection in the 2025 NHL Draft was center Matthew Lansing of the USHL, who they picked 207th overall. With Lansing’s selection, the Canucks have officially made all of their picks in this year’s draft (unless they acquire another selection, but this is unlikely).

Lansing is a 6’1 American center who played with the Waterloo Blackhawks and Fargo Force of the USHL. His career with the Blachawks dates back to the 2023–24 season, as he spent 11 games with the team that year. This season, he played 40 games for Waterloo and scored eight goals and nine assists in this span of time. He was traded to Fargo back in February of 2025 and since then scored four goals and six assists in 14 games with the Force as their top-line center.

As well as his time in the USHL, Lansing also spent some time with the U.S. National Team Development Program. In 13 games, he tallied one assist. In the 2025 IIHF U18 World Junior Championship, he and Team USA won a Bronze Medal. Lansing has committed to Quinnipiac University and will join the team in the 2025–26 season.
