Vilmer Alriksson was drafted 107th overall by the Vancouver Canucks during the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
The Vancouver Canucks have signed prospect Vilmer Alriksson to a three-year, entry-level contract. The 6'6", 234-pound winger was a fourth-round draft pick by the Canucks in 2023 and has been one of the more impressive prospects through this year's Training Camp and pre-season. A physical forward who recorded five hits in Vancouver's most recent game against the Calgary Flames, Alriksson fits very well into Rick Tocchet's system and is the last prospect bound for the CHL, who is still on the pre-season roster.
In a statement, GM Patrik Allvin said, "Vilmer had a solid training camp and continues to develop and improve. We really like his size, skating ability and skillset and we will continue to monitor his progress and work with him this year to help Vilmer get ready to take another step forward in his hockey career."

Once Alriksson is sent back to junior, he will join the Guelph Storm for his second OHL season. In 2023-24, he recorded 17 goals and 33 points in 67 games while also being a physical force throughout the year. So far this season, Guelph is 2-0, and with the addition of Alriksson, they should have no problem qualifying for this year's postseason.
