The Vancouver Canucks had three goalies on the ice at practice on Friday at UBC.
Roster regulars Thatcher Demko and Casey DeSmith were two of them. The other was Roman Basran, a 22-year-old Vancouver native, who spent parts of four seasons with the Kelowna Rockets in the Western Hockey League and last year played with the Wichita Thunder of the ECHL.

Basran was out ahead of Canucks practice working with injured players Carson Soucy and Ilya Mikheyev. He then stayed out for the full practice along with Demko and DeSmith.
Basran had limited involvement in drills on Friday, but was there to spell off Demko and DeSmith. The Canucks have talked about reducing Demko's between game work load throughout the season and it will be interesting to see if Basran becomes a practice regular.
During his time in the Western Hockey League, he embraced the heated rivalry between Kelowna and Kamloops.
