The Vancouver Canucks (34-12-6) will be looking to snap their two-game losing streak on Sunday when they face off against the Washington Capitals (23-20-7) for the first time this season. This game has the potential to be low-action as both teams played on the road Saturday, with the Capitals finishing their game at 6:10 PM ET. There may also be some urgency in the crowd as people will want to get home in time for the Super Bowl, which starts a few hours after the conclusion of this game.

As usual, the Canucks will need to be careful whenever Alex Ovechkin is on the ice. After starting the season slow, he has goals in four straight games and is now within 60 goals of Wayne Gretzky's all-time record. If Vancouver can limit his opportunity and stay off the penalty kill, they should be able to grind out a win against Washington.

    Players to Watch

    Conor Garland

While Conor Garland and his linemates have been playing well, he needs to start finding the back of the net. He enters Sunday on a six-game pointless streak and has only recorded a point in two of his last ten. Currently, on a 17-game hot streak, he needs to convert his chances if Vancouver wants to snap their two-game losing streak.

    Anthony Mantha

One of Washington's biggest scoring threats is Anthony Mantha. He sits second on the team with 16 goals and is on pace to set a new career high this season. An unrestricted free agent who may be on the move in a month, a strong game against one of the league's best could help increase his trade value ahead of the trade deadline.
