Massive new video board and ring beam to enhance fan experience
The Vancouver Canucks have released details about significant changes to Rogers Arena for the upcoming National Hockey League season. The upgrades are designed to enhance the fan experience in a number of ways.
The most notable change is a giant state of the art video board that is nearly four times larger than the previous one. The video board is designed with a seamless curve allowing viewing from all angles and areas in the bowl of the arena.
In addition, the Canucks are enhancing the ring beam that circles the bowl. This will allow the hockey club to present information, messages and animation throughout the game.
"Our fans and guests expect an outstanding experience when they step inside Rogers Arena and these investments by ownership in digital and hospitality innovation reinforce our commitment to ensuring our facilities rank among the best in the entertainment industry," said Michael Doyle, President, Canucks Sports and Entertainment, Business Operations. "We are fortunate to have a fantastic location in the heart of our city and the continued investment in the facility will ensure it remains an entertainment centre all of British Columbia can be proud to call home."
The Canucks also announced that they will be replacing the boards, glass, dashers, penalty boxes and benches at Rogers Arena.
Additionally, the team released more details on a new premium ice-level lounge and restaurant beneath the stands and between the two main locker rooms at Rogers Arena.
The team also announced plans to replace all current seats in the arena bowl next summer. They also plan to redesign the North Plaza entrance to the building.
