All-stars, Beanpot champs, and more in this month’s prospect update.

2025 has been off to a great start for the Vancouver Canucks’ prospects, with players’ accolades ranging from participating in the AHL All-Star Challenge, to winning the 2025 men’s Beanpot. Let’s take a look at how some Canucks prospects have fared so far.

    Aiden Celebrini

    Defenseman

    Boston University, NCAA

    Round 6, #171 overall in 2023

Aiden Celebrini, the older brother of San Jose Sharks star Macklin Celebrini, is a defensively-minded defender with the potential to be a solid shutdown option on the blueline. He and fellow Boston University Terrier, Tom Willander, won their franchise’s 32nd men’s Beanpot at the beginning of last week, though Celebrini did not dress due to injury. He made his return to the lineup on February 14 against the Providence College Friars, and was slotted in as part of the team’s third-pairing the game after that. Prior to his injury, Celebrini had a goal and three assists in 20 games played.

    Lucas Forsell

    Forward

    Färjestad BK, SHL

    Round 7, #201 overall in 2021

While the end result was not ideal, it was still a notable occasion for Lucas Forsell and Färjestad BK, who took part in the Champions League Final yesterday. They suffered a 2–1 loss at the hands of ZSC Lions of the National League. Forsell played 10:23 of the game and had one shot on goal. He finished his 13-game stretch of Champions League play with two goals and three assists, and an average TOI of 12:46 per game.

    Jonathan Lekkerimäki

    Forward

    Abbotsford Canucks, AHL

    Round 1, #15 overall in 2022

Despite the successes of making his NHL debut and scoring his first NHL goal in November of 2024, the past couple of months have also shown promise for Jonathan Lekkerimäki. He is currently fourth in rookie scoring in the AHL with 17 goals in 29 games played, and sits at fifth on Abbotsford in points with 25. Prior to Monday night’s matchup against the Colorado Eagles, Lekkerimäki was riding a four-game point streak that saw him score three goals and one assist.

    Victor Mancini

    Defenseman

    Abbotsford Canucks, AHL

Round 5, #159 overall in 2022 (by New York Rangers)

A newcomer to the Canucks after being moved to Vancouver as part of the J.T. Miller trade, Victor Mancini’s sample size with Abbotsford is small, but promising. He has played four games with Vancouver’s AHL team, putting up an assist in that span of time. While he has played on a pairing with Elias Pettersson (D) to start his time in Abbotsford, with Pettersson being recalled to Vancouver on Tuesday, it’s yet to be determined who else Mancini will end up playing with. With that being said, it’s clear that Mancini has already cemented himself as a reliable presence on Abbotsford’s blueline, as he has seen time on the penalty kill as well as during the late stages of games.

    Ty Mueller

    Forward

    Abbotsford Canucks, AHL

    Round 4, #105 overall in 2023

Ty Mueller is currently in the middle of a successful rookie campaign with Abbotsford, and was even named to the 2025 AHL All-Star Challenge in Coachella Valley after Pettersson was unable to attend. He took part in three of the skills competition events — the Fortune Tires Rapid Fire, the Silvercrest Pass and Score, and the Upper Deck Breakaway Relay. During the Pacific Division’s game against the Central Division All-Stars, Mueller tallied an assist on the opening goal. Since returning from the All-Star Challenge, Mueller has put up a goal and an assist.

    Tom Willander

    Defenseman

    Boston University, NCAA

    Round 1, #11 overall in 2023

Coming off an impressive showing at the 2025 World Juniors, Willander took even more strides by helping his team along to their 32nd Beanpot in team history. The Canucks’ top defensive prospect finished the short tournament with two assists, five blocked shots, and three shots on goal. He was instrumental in setting up the game-winning goal as he fired a pass over to Cole Hutson. He also put up two assists in his team’s 6–3 loss to Providence last Friday.
