Vancouver Canucks' top performers from November 15–30, 2024.

In this new column, I’ll be taking a look at the Canucks’ top five performers from the 1st to the 15th of every month, as well as from the 15th to the 30th. Here are the top five Canucks for November 15–30.

5. Jake DeBrusk

Most notable game: November 23 vs. Ottawa Senators

Points since the 15th: 4G, 2A in 7 GP

With six points in seven games played, Jake DeBrusk makes this top-five list based not only on his two-goal performance against the Senators, but also due to his positive impact on the team’s offence separate from his individual stats. hockeystatcards.com has DeBrusk at the top of their cards in two of the seven games he’s played within this two-week span, with those matchups being against the Chicago Blackhawks and Ottawa.

4. Pius Suter

Most notable game: November 29 vs. Buffalo Sabres

Points since the 15th: 2G, 4A in 7 GP

Who would have thought that Pius Suter would be one of the Canucks’ leading goal-scorers by the end of November? Suter has had a tidy stretch of games since November 15, collecting two goals and four assists in seven games. He’s found himself a spot between Conor Garland and Dakota Joshua, and is currently tied with the former in goals with eight on the season.

3. Elias Pettersson

Most notable game: November 23 vs. Ottawa Senators

Points since the 15th: 3G, 5A in 7GP

Elias Pettersson’s comeback has begun. After glimpsing flashes of his old self against the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames in the first half of the month, Pettersson rounded out November with some solid performances alongside linemates DeBrusk and Kiefer Sherwood. Since November 15, he’s third on the team in points, but shockingly leads all forwards in blocks with eight. However, he has only had 10 shots in this span of time, which is something he’ll hope to increase in the coming months.

2. Quinn Hughes

Most notable game: November 29 vs. Buffalo Sabres

Record since the 15th: 2G, 7A in 7GP (technically)

I wouldn’t typically include Quinn Hughes in these columns (because frankly, he’d probably end up on here every time), but since he just tied the franchise record in assists by a defenceman on Friday, I’ll let it slide. Hughes cracks this top-five despite having missed nearly all of the team’s matchup against the Senators. No player on the Canucks has more of an offensive or defensive impact on their team than Hughes, and that’s shown in the multiple hockey stat cards that he perches at the top of.

1. Conor Garland

Most notable game: November 29 vs. Buffalo Sabres

Points since the 15th: 4G, 6A in 7 GP

Conor Garland’s new dad strength puts him as the highest points-getter on the team in this two-week span. He’s also coming in with the highest shot count on the team since November 15 with 22. He had a goal and an assist in the team’s defensively-sound matchup against the Boston Bruins. As well, in Friday’s overtime nailbiter against the Sabres, Garland had three points, one of which included the game-winning goal. He’s also riding a seven-game point streak.

Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller is taking a leave of absence for personal reasons.
